SYNOPSIS OF GoNoloBUs S.S. (APOCYNACEAE: ASCLEPIADOIDEAE) IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
A synopsis of Gonolobus s.s. (Apocynaceae, Asclepiadoideae, Gonolobinae) in Trinidad and Tobago, including a key, descriptions, and illustrations, is provided to facilitate recognition and conservation of the two accepted species: Gonolobus rostratus and G. tobagensis. The misapplication of names both in the literature and to South American specimens is discussed.

Crude extracts from a medicinal Tunisian plant, Pergularia tomentosa L., were the investigated natural material. Butanolic extract of roots analyzed with IR spectra revealed the presence of hydroxyl, alcoholic, and carboxylic groups and sugars units. Analysis of some secondary metabolites, total phenolic, flavonoids, flavonols, and procyanidins, was performed using different solvents following ...

Jasminanthes xuanlienensis (Apocynaceae, Asclepiadoideae), a new species from Vietnam is described, illustrated and compared with its five congeners. Jasminanthes xuanlienensis differs distinctly from congeners by the longer peduncles (14-18 cm vs. 4 cm at most in Jasminanthes pilosa and Jasminanthes saxatilis, salmon-pink color of the inner corolla lobes (white or greenish in the other species...
متن کاملThe Gonolobus Complex (apocynaceae: Asclepiadoideae) in the Southeastern United States
Taxonomic limits of Gonolobus (Apocynaceae: Asclepiadoideae) in the southeastern United States have been controversial, with some authors recognizing two species and others only one. Over the past 30 years, most authors have tended toward recognition of a single species. However, the morphological variation within the taxon appears complicated and has not been analyzed using a quantitative appr...
متن کاملComplete Chloroplast Genome of Tanaecium tetragonolobum: The First Bignoniaceae Plastome
Bignoniaceae is a Pantropical plant family that is especially abundant in the Neotropics. Members of the Bignoniaceae are diverse in many ecosystems and represent key components of the Tropical flora. Despite the ecological importance of the Bignoniaceae and all the efforts to reconstruct the phylogeny of this group, whole chloroplast genome information has not yet been reported for any members...
